Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Manga): Volume 1

A magical creature named Kyubey is able to grant any wish a girl would so desire. In exchange for that miracle, she must agree to enter a pact and fight the evil witches that threaten humanity.

Artwork by Hanokage from Episode 1 of the anime.
This is the manga adaptation of the famous animated series Puella Magi Madoka Magica by Magica Quartet. The manga version is created by the artist Hanokage, who drew the ending artwork for episode 1 (above). I can say that the character designs are much better than the anime counterpart and everything looks so damn good!

Kyubey showing emotions?!!
The anime portraits Kyubey to be somehow emotionless and never changes his facial expression, but his manga counterpart seems to be full of emotions. At first I didn't like it because emotionless Kyubey gives you the mysterious chill, making the viewer suspect him from the very beginning. But this might actually work, because if manga Kyubey can freely show emotions, then that means that we'll be seeing his evil face very soon.

Charlotte is so damn adorable!
Charlotte's design is basically the same except her second form looks a lot more menacing than her anime counterpart. The manga is more graphic than the anime as it shows Mami's headless body lying on the ground and presents the scene with sound effects like "CRACK" and "SNAP" while Charlotte is chewing on her skull.

And this is why I love Charlotte!
Just in case you have yet to notice, Charlotte is my favorite character in the entire show and that is why I chose her as my avatar for my blogger profile. You can see it near the lower-right corner, on a widget titled "ABOUT ME".

Charlotte eating sweets again.
So far, the manga is a direct adaptation of the anime. Each chapter begins and ends pretty much the same way as each episode does. I have high hopes for this manga because I really love the new character designs and the graphic nature but I can't help but feel that it is a bit rushed.

Oh well, that's it for now. Thanks for reading.

manga is much better than anime, becoz manga is showing scary, feeling, blood, horror, and more... even characters' face r look much better than anime
in anime, their faces look kinda big, but i love it
anime made that way, becoz anime dont want kids to watch killing and horror movie, so i dont mind anime change alot from manga :)
