Fate/EXTRA: The Final Selection (Round 7) Rin Route

The last Master you'll face in the Holy Grail War is a young king by the name of Leonardo Bistario Harway, with Gawain by his side what could a nameless Master do to match such a perfect combination. Here's a guide for the last week of Rin's route.

The Final Selection
— Rin Route —

Day 1

Midday:
  • School Building 2F:
Enemy data is announced on the bulletin board. Your opponent is Leonardo Bistario Harway. Enemy Servant Matrix Level 1.
Evening:

    SABER:
    That's exactly right.

    ARCHER:
    I believe in you.

    CASTER:
    Thank you.

Okay, I'm not better than a god...

    • Servant Battle:
Victory Condition: Defeat Berserker (10,906 HP)
He will always use Stalking Tiger on the 1st move, so either GUARD against it, use a defensive Skill or interrupt him with hack(16); to inflict Stun and negate his attack. He shouldn't last more than a turn or two if you assault him with a barrage of Skills.

      SKILL LIST:
      Heightened Chi

Increases the effectiveness of the ATTACK command.

      I wanted to understand you.

    • 9th Rare Monster:

      Could it be that...you're hungry?

      ARCHER:
      Is something bothering you?

      Do you have a stomachache?

Share your soul with me, Saber!

      Thank you, Saber.

That means I've failed as a Master.

      ARCHER:
      Thank you, Archer!

      You suck as a Servant!

      CASTER:
You have to trust me, Caster!

Be true to your feelings, like always.

I cannot let her struggle alone.

      Don't treat me like I'm a stranger!

      Unknown Battle:
Victory Condition: Defeat SE.RA.PH (9,999 HP)
This boss is even weaker than the Berserker from yesterday which makes this battle look like a joke. Use a barrage of skills to destroy it before it could even land a hit.

      A.C.E.
      Target: Self
When in effect, all attacks are successful.

Victory Condition: Survive for 3 turns.
During the 1st turn, he'll use Divine Aegis to increase his luck and then Siege Perilous to boost his GUARD. Negate those with vanish_add(a); to minimize his chances of doing a critical hit or inflicting Stun. During the 3rd move of the 2nd turn, Leo might use bomb(32); to stun you while Gawain uses Blade of the Devoted, so make sure that your HP is high by then.

He will always use Divine Aegis and Siege Perilous on the 1st turn, so be careful about using ATTACK or you'll get yourself inflicted with a Stun when his GUARD connects. Just do the same as before then unleash your Noble Phantasm when it's ready.

He will use this skill on the 2nd move.
      Siege Perilous

Seals enemy Skills when using GUARD.
The effect would only last for 3 turns.
He will use this skill on the 5th move.

    End of the Final Round
    — Rin Route —

There's no way in hell can you beat such perfect combination without cheating the system. Gawain becomes immune to damage when the sun is up, so what's the solution? Hack the system to disable the sun and attack him while it's dark. If only Leo and his Servant were capable of such dirty tactics, then they'd conquer this war easily.

This is a crazy in depth walkthrough. Maybe you should make a site devoted to just the walkthrough.

    @Shaw
I already thought of that before, but if I do that, this blog would look dead with no new post for over a month.

The ACE skill used by the SE.RA.PH enemy, to the best of my knowledge, either scrambles or 'inverts' the attack pattern it's using, making the commands you entered based on what you saw at the start of it useless.

    Anonymous said...

^ I think it only works for the attack after it uses ACE and possibly one more after that, like a weaker version of The Faceless King

at what level did you beat Gawain?..

If you mean the final battle with Gawain, I'm at Level 45.

May I know all of your servants statistic during your battle with Gawain?

    Lord Phrozen said...

I cannot remember Saber's stat exactly since it has been a long while since I last played her.

    Saber: A+/A/C/D/E
    Archer: A+/B/D/B/E
    Caster: E/C/E/EX/E

Also, since I never gained a level after Round 7, same stats were used when fighting the final and secret bosses.

    Anonymous said...

I see. Well I got 1 question, which one is better to raise between Archer's agility or magic since you raised Archer's magic parameter into B?

    Lord Phrozen said...

    @Anonymous
As long as you got Archer's STR to A+, I don't think the rest of the stat matters. Just upgrade whatever stat you want. I chose MGI because it has the highest growth.

    Anonymous said...

Ok then since Archer's magic growth rate is high, is it also give more skill damage? I also heard that defense also raise skill damage

    Anonymous said...

I'M JUST ASKING WHY ARE YOU NOT ADDING THE LOCATIONS OF THE TRIGGERS???

    Lord Phrozen said...

    @Anonymous
What the hell is up with ALLCAPS!? Can't you type properly like the rest of the people here? The triggers are there along with the items, I didn't label them with a special icon because triggers are always present, unlike Tiger's Quest and other Key Items that disappear from the map.

On day 6, is there a special conversation with caster in the evening inside the private room; or is that considered "not special enough"?

On day 5 there is a special conversation with caster if you go to your private room and talk to her. Does it affect the outcome of the game just asking and Thanks in advance...

1 thing bothers me: We already know Saber's true name is Gawain, so why do have to search for more information in battle? Why not just go to the library and read all there is to know about Gawain? Just curious

    Anonymous said...

@noiritter: Well considering that the system promotes fair play and adjusts itself to the player's needs, you think that it's going to just leave information like that around, like saying "Here's some information on your opponent, go screw them as much as you want"?
Besides, Leo may be proud and powerful, but you can't really expect your last opponent to be completly honest with you. Would you?

While using this guide I noticed a mistake on the map for the second floor. For me Tiger Thermos was in the top left of the bottom left room and a regular item was where Taiga's Request is listed in that room. Whether a different version or a mistake figured I'd post it for people as confused as I was.

    My stats for Caster were

    Caster: Lvl. 41
    STR: C
    DEF: C
    AGIL: D
    MAG: A
    LCK: C

    Anonymous said...

In day 2,I could not find the certain area where your servant pops up a conversation. Is there a problem or..?

    Anonymous said...

Woah, you really did grind hard, didn't you? I mean, level 45? Seriously? XD

    Caster stats (Level 36)

    STR: C
    END: C
    AGI: E
    MAG: A+
    LUK: E

Agi is not needed since you do not need to stabilize your damage. Go full burst, unless you have spare points, then invest along with Luck

    Anonymous said...

Actually the system should have left all the information about Gawain out there.
Leo freely gave up his servants true name. In the grail war that pretty much says, I'm so overconfident I don't care about this please go find a way to kill me. By all rights someone should have found a way to kill Gawain before the final round. Gawain is good but nowhere near that good.

Caster is still weak, even during the late rounds of the game, because she still has the worst HP and physical stats overall. The only thing she does best is to burst a lot of damage by nuking her lethal skills but can't take that much hits unless she counters her enemies also by relying on the secondary effects of the various skills that she use. Very disgusting, if you ask me. Now, it's also very pathetic that one must need to gain her affection enough first just to fully unlock her matrix in the game. Totally ridiculous but what do you expect with the worst servant in this game.
