Golden Fantasia Cross: Return of the Golden Witch

Golden Fantasia Cross is an expansion to the game Golden Fantasia, which was released more than a year ago. This fighting game is based on the visual novel and animated series When the Seagulls Cry. Because of this, both titles have the same characters and uses the same setting.

The original Golden Fantasia only had 11 characters in total. This expansion, Golden Fantasia Cross doesn't only adds 5 more additional characters but they've announced that they'll be releasing 3 more additional characters as downloadable content this coming spring. They've also rebalanced the game like removing infinite combos or tweaking over-powered moves to make this game more enjoyable.

NEW CHARACTERS!

Black Battler
When light becomes dark and the detective becomes the murderer himself, another murder mystery begins. He is the embodiment of the rumor and theories where the protagonist himself becomes the culprit of the crime he is trying to solve. His ability that activates inside the Meta World is called Massacre. It allows him to absorb the opponent's HP for every successful hit.

Erika Furudo
A girl with two faces. She acts polite and shows a great interest in puzzles and mysteries, but she's actually cunning and merciless. She's only trying to solve the mystery to prove her superiority to the culprit. Her ability that activates inside the Meta World is called Forced Counter. It allows her to automatically counter-attack the enemy every time she is hit.

Dlanor A. Knox
A first-class archbishop and a witch hunter sent by the Great Court of Heaven to deal with the Rokkenjima murder incident. She serves Erika as her Master and wields a magical red blade to fight. Her ability that activates inside the Meta World is called Armor Boost. It grants her additional defense which reduces the effectiveness of your enemy's attacks.

COMING SOON!

Additional characters will be released this coming spring as downloadable content. They are Bernkastel, Lambdadelta and Willard H. Wright. Not much info are released about them, so we can only speculate their abilities.

This is the opening video animation for the game. The song is titled Golden Showtime.

Here's a gameplay video I recorded to show how the game's fighting system works. Battles are always 2-on-2 so you have to master at least 2 characters if you want to excel in this game. What makes this game different to the other 2D fighting games is the Meta World. Activating the Meta World will cost 1 SP, this will activate your character's abilities and allow them to use their Meta special attack an infinite number of times as long as the field is active. Be careful though, when activating Meta, you opponent can also activate their own to cancel out yours.

That is all for now. I'll try to upload videos of the other characters if I get the chance.

the artwork is cool, but I don't think I would like the game play. It should be an anime, I might like to watch that.

The anime of that is called Umineko no naku Koro ni watch it! It's violent and brutal and VERY COOL!!! This is the second part of the game(I think...) Ougon Musou Kyoko is the first then Ougon Musou Kyoko CROSS (this...) is the second... hope this helps. There is also a visual novel before the anime and the game was released. It's called Seagulls When They Cry... IT HAS TERRIBLE ARTWORK... Well, If you're a hardcore fan then try it...
