The Holy Grail War, a bloody tournament that revolves around an all-powerful treasure that will grant its wielder a miracle, the Holy Grail. To be granted the right to wield it, magi from all over the world must each summon their own Legendary Soul and engage in a battle royal to become the last man standing. Here's a guide for the Prologue.
New Game
After you start the game, you'll be allowed to choose the difficulty you wish to play.
NORMAL MODE |
EASY MODE |
There's not much difference between the two difficulties aside from the presence of the Revival Fountains that heal both Master and Servant. The fountains are always present in Easy Mode but is only limited to the 1st Arena in Normal Mode.
The Preliminary Selection
Day 1
Morning:
- School Building 2F:
Go and enter Classroom 2-A to initiate the story.
- School Building 2F:
Talk to the Editor in Chief in front of the bulletin board near the stairs to get your first mission. She'll ask you to investigate the mystery of the Archery Range. You'll be given a choice to answer her but whatever choice you made will not matter as she'll reply with a generic line anyway.
Yes. No. You're the mysterious one.
- Archery Range:
Investigate the place by talking to Taiga Fujimura, your class teacher.
Go home. Stay at school.
If you choose to "Stay at school" then you'll have to manually go to the Main Gate to go home and proceed with the story. There's really no reason to stay unless you want to view the Optional Events you have yet to see.
- School Building 1F:
Go in front of the Nurse's Office to view an event with Shinji and Sakura.
Day 2
Evening:
- School Building 2F:
Talk to the Editor in Chief again to report your findings and receive your second mission, investigating Little Red Rooftop.
- Rooftop:
An event with Rin Tousaka will trigger, then Issei of the student council will appear afterwards and you'll be given a choice.
Leave. Don't leave.
If you choose "Don't leave." then you'll have to manually go to the Main Gate to go home and proceed with the story... again!
- School Building 1F:
Go in front of the Nurse's Office and you'll find Shinji. Talk to him to discover something weird happening behind the scenes.
Day 3
Evening:
- School Building 2F:
Talk to the Editor in Chief again to report your findings and receive your third mission, investigate the Chapel.
- School Building 1F:
Enter the furthest room to the east, the one with 2 doors, to enter the Garden.
- Garden:
Talk to the guy in black and then you'll pass out, choices when you wake up.
Leave. Don't leave.
If you choose "Don't leave." then you'll have to manually go to the Main Gate to go home and proceed with the story... AGAIN!
- School Building 2F:
Head west until you reach the corner to find Leo talking with Mr. Kuzuki.
- School Building 3F:
Talk to the Male Student in front of the stairs to receive information about yet another mystery, then head west until an event triggers.
Turn around. Don't turn around.
If you choose "Turn around" you'll meet the little girl before she disappears. But if you choose "Don't turn around" she'll disappear without you meeting her.
- School Building 3F:
Head to the east wing of the corridor and talk to the Male Student in front of the window. He'll talk about the presence of a foreign girl.
Day 4
— Side A —
— Side A —
Evening:
- School Building 2F:
Talk to the Editor in Chief again to report. Your character should be going nuts right now trying to remember his name. She'll tell you to head to the Library and check the registry.
- School Building 2F:
Enter the Library to the right and check the shelf.
- School Building 1F:
Follow Leo and you'll trigger an event where he passes through the wall. Check the wall and you'll be prompted to take an action.
I want to know. I don't want to know.
You'll enter a battle afterwards where your character is scripted to die.
- School Building 3F:
Head west to the area where you met the little girl earlier to see an event.
Talk to her. Don't talk to her.
If you choose "Talk to her" she will introduce herself as Alice and won't disappear. But if you choose "Don't talk to her" she'll disappear instantly.
- School Building 3F:
Head east to view an event with a foreign girl named Rani.
- School Building 1F:
Go in front of the Nurse's Office to view another event with Shinji and Sakura. You'll see that there's something wrong going on with this school.
- Schoolyard:
This will result in a Game Over but if you wish to view the very first Dead End of the game, all you need to do is head to the Main Gate and go home.
Leave. Stay put.
Day 4
— Side B —
— Side B —
Intermission:
- Servant Selection:
This day begins with a selection and the choice you made will determine the Servant that you'll receive.
SABER A woman who wields a sword boldly. ARCHER A stoic warrior clothed in red robes. CASTER A magical fox girl. - Saber:
For novice players. This Servant starts out stronger than the others therefore she's the easiest to play with. Relies mostly on strength to attack so she's the easiest to raise as well.
- Archer:
For advanced players. This Servant starts out as mediocre but starts dealing insane damage when raised properly. Relies on both strength and magic to attack so it takes some skill to raise.
- Caster:
For hardcore players. This Servant starts out pretty weak so she requires a lot of strategy to survive but she is no doubt the strongest Servant when raised properly. Relies mostly on magical skills to attack so she uses up a lot more MP than the others.
- Gender Selection:
Select whether you prefer to play as a male or a female main character. Whichever gender you select will only affect the dialogue in some cutscenes by just a little and won't have any impact on the main story.
- School Building 1F:
You'll see the former main character run through the hallway to follow Leo, so go that way and rewatch the cutscene from another person's perspective. After the event, check the wall and you'll be prompted to take an action.
I want to know. I don't want to know.
Then just move forward until you reach the arena.
- Preliminary Arena:
Here's the complete map for this dungeon. Click to enlarge.
Upon reaching this dungeon, you will engage in a series of tutorial battles that teaches you the basics of combat. First up is Watcher, choose the 1st option after you read the tutorial to start the battle.
Fine, I will. Can you explain it again?
Now proceed to fighting Tracer, then Enforcer and then finally Pylon Soul.
- Final Room:
Upon reaching this room, you'll find yourself in the same place where the former main character died and you'll face the same effigy that destroyed him. Battle will initiate but no matter how well you do, you are scripted to lose.
After your defeat in battle, you will be prompted to take action.
Just let it end now. I refuse to give up.
Choosing the first option will result in a Dead End. Select the 2nd option to proceed with the next one.
Please, just let it end now. I still refuse to give up.
Again, choosing the first option will end in a Dead End. Select the 2nd option to continue and your Servant will appear to question you whether or not you are their Master.
Yes. No.
Saying "No" to Archer would immediately result in a Dead End. However, saying the same thing to Saber will not, as she'll forgive you for making that mistake. Caster will think that you're just joking around with her.
You will now engage the effigy with your Servant. The enemy's attack pattern is revealed so there's really no way to end this battle badly unless you lose on purpose.
End of Prologue
Optional Events aren't required to proceed with the story but it provides additional cutscenes that could be permanently missed, so make sure to do these events before ending the day. Also, if you missed the Optional Events that involves Alice and Rani on the 3rd Floor during Day 4-A, you have another chance viewing them during Day 4-B with your new character.

I love the layout for this guide, with all the choices neatly put in the blue boxes and whatnot. Great work!
Nice game that is. (:
Answers seem pretty straight-forward if you ask me.
Well, those are the answers I'd give even without prompting anyways.
I'd play it!
Sounds like a very complex game! I like it!
this game looks boring

I like the way it looks
Missed an optional encounter. Check the supply room on floor one of day one
Thank you for sharing such great information. can you help me in finding out more detail on play school in Magarpatta city
Imagine picking caster for the first time and see her do actions in battle, only for you to realize that for a servant belonging to a mage class, she doesn't have any skills yet. Poor thing, hohoho...
